چکیده

Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is a common neurologic disease among the elderly. Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (SICH) associated with CSDH has been reported as a rare complication. In most cases they develop during or after burr hole drainage, and are related to rapid decompression. Coagulopathy, vascular malformation, aneurysm, and neoplasm have been reported as other possible cautions of SICH development associated with CSDH. However, remote SICH that occurs during progression of CSDH has not been previously reported. Here we describe a case of SICH that occurred during the progression of CSDH, and discuss possible mechanisms, with clinical and radiologic findings. Case Report

Chronic subdural hematoma of the posterior fossa associated with cerebellar hemorrhage: report of rare disease with MRI findings.

Chronic subdural hematoma of the posterior fossa is an uncommon entity, and spontaneous lesions are very rarely described, occurring mostly during anticoagulation therapy. The association of the posterior fossa chronic subdural hematoma with spontaneous parenchymal hemorrhage without anticoagulation therapy was never related in the literature, to our knowledge. We describe a case of a 64 year-o...

Intracerebral haemorrhage following surgical evacuation of chronic subdural haematoma: case report.

Intracerebral haemorrhages occurring after removal of chronic subdural haematoma have been reported as a rare but nearly uniformly devastating postoperative occurrence with incidence ranges between 0,7 and 5%. The absence of a particular attention paid to such complication in literature prompted us to present this report adding our personal experience to the cases already described in the liter...

Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage in hemophiliacs—A treatment dilemma

BACKGROUND Spontaneous Intracerebral hemorrhage is a rare and challenging condition to treat, especially in haemophiliacs. With their innate predilection to bleed following trivial trauma, surgical management of such cases have been individualised and no treatment protocols exist. Often they are managed with craniotomy and evacuation under cover of AHF. DISCUSSION Here we discuss the nuances,...

Spontaneous Acute Subdural Hemorrhage with Rupture of Intracranial Aneurysm: A Series of Two Cases and Review of Literature

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) almost invariably develops following the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, and is often complicated by intracerebral hematoma (ICH) and intraventricular hematoma. Subdural hematoma (SDH) can occur rarely. Reported incidence of SDH associated with aneurysm bleed varies from 0.5 to 7.9%.1,2 In most cases SDH is associated with SAH and/or ICH. Intracranial aneurysmal ru...
